AI use statement

How EducAitor uses AI, who processes your data, and what the AI does not do.

Last updated

In short

EducAitor® uses AI to turn a recording of your teaching into a written report about your practice, and to answer your follow-up questions about that report. The AI looks at the educator's practice only. It isn't given learner names or records, and it never ranks you against colleagues. Depending on your organisation's settings, reports can include scores against your framework.

What the AI does

  • Transcribes the lesson recording into text.
  • Writes your report: strengths with evidence from the session, two or three focused targets, and the reasoning behind each suggestion, mapped to the framework you work to.
  • Powers the AI coach, which answers your follow-up questions about a session.

What the AI does not do

  • It does not make decisions about you. EducAitor supports professional judgement; it does not replace it. Your report is a starting point for your own reflection and for conversations you choose to have.
  • It isn't given learner names or records. Lesson recordings are transcribed and deleted; the report is about the educator's practice.
  • It does not share your report with anyone. You own it, and it stays private unless you choose to share it.
  • It does not train on your content. Our AI providers are contractually barred from using your recordings, transcripts or reports to train their models.

Who processes your data

We use two named AI providers, and no others:

  • Groq transcribes the audio of your lesson into text.
  • OpenAI writes your feedback report and powers the EducAitor AI coach. OpenAI also transcribes lesson audio if Groq is unavailable.

Both providers process data under agreements that prohibit training on our users' content and require its deletion after processing. The same providers are named in the app before any recording is sent.

What happens to the recording

Lessons are recorded on your device. When you stop, the recording is uploaded, transcribed and deleted as soon as your report is written. We don't keep lesson recordings.

If something looks wrong

AI can make mistakes. Every section of every report has a "Something not right?" link. Use it to flag anything that looks inaccurate, unfair or out of context. Flags go to the EducAitor team, who review them and use them to improve the platform.

Leaders and the five-staff rule

Leaders can see who has recorded recently, so they can offer support, but never how anyone's lessons went. Anything about teaching quality is shown only as anonymous team trends from five or more teachers, and leaders see an individual's report only if that educator shares it.
